There were great celebrations in Kells last Saturday as McKeon’s officially launched their new Love Fresh store. McKeon’s have been serving the Kells and surrounding community for more than 25 years and are delighted to introduce their new look store featuring a fabulous range of delicious fresh food and barista style coffee.
There was a wonderful party atmosphere on Saturday with children's entertainment including face painting, balloon modelling and magic shows, as well Free Ice-cream, lots of samples and giveaways. Sheridan’s Cheesemongers and Brú beer were in store and customers also enjoyed free coffee, Hot Chocolate and samples of Love Fresh's chicken and deli products. Competition prizes up for grabs included €50 and €100 fuel vouchers and a €100 voucher for House Dublin, while LMFM radio was there broadcasting live.
The exciting expanded deli counter offers fresh food throughout the day with sandwiches, rolls and salad boxes made to order and a delicious range of gourmet sandwiches on offer. The emphasis is on quality fresh food and all their chicken is cooked from fresh in store.
McKeon’s boast the best coffee in town with their barista style coffee with unique creamy froth and hot chocolate that comes in delicious mint and caramel flavours too.
Love Fresh is open from 6am and also offers a fresh bakery with their experienced baker Jakub working through the night to ensure there is a sumptuous range of freshly baked bread, muffins, tray bakes, cookies and pastries each morning.
As stockists of local Sheridan’s products, you will find delicious cheeses, chutneys, crackers, pizza bases, sauces, olives and more in store. Love Fresh also offers delicious Blizz Ice cream and milk shakes.
There is now a full off-licence with a range of wines from around the world, spirits, chilled beers and craft beers.
Manager Damien Duffy said: "We are delighted with our new look store. Our new deli has been a huge success with a real focus on fresh ingredients and extensive offerings. We work through the night so that our full product range is available to our customers from 6am weekdays. Our chicken is prepared in store from fresh every time. Our barista style coffee machines are really popular with our customers and we have just introduced a new creamy hot chocolate offering."
McKeon's Topaz fuel is the new miles additive fuel which gives motorists up to three per cent further on ordinary fuel, making it much more efficient. All pumps are checked every six months and independently certified so customers can be sure that the amount they are paying for is the amount of fuel they get.
Their automatic tyre inflator is free to use unlike many garages which charge for this service. There is also a car wash and Parcel Motel service.
McKeon's shop first opened on Valentine's Day 1991 and they have been serving the community ever since. McKeon’s employs more than 30 people in the area and customers are always greeted with a smile and a friendly word.
Paying tribute to their staff, proprietor Micheál McKeon said:"A large part of our success is down to manager Damien Duffy and our staff. Any entrepreneur can see an opportunity and try to avail of it but you also need people to execute it for you. The success is down to the consistency of our staff, their friendliness and work ethic and ability to adapt to our customers' needs."
Mr McKeon said they regularly consult with staff to get their feedback on what they should do to improve the shopping experience for their customers, so ongoing improvements are a direct result of customer and staff feedback.
